Week of September 8th–12th

Dear Families,

We have an exciting week ahead at Potter Valley Elementary, filled with opportunities for learning, connection, and fun! Please take a moment to review the events happening this week:

ELAC Meeting – Tuesday, September 10th, 5:00–5:30 p.m.
Our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meetings are open to all parents/guardians of English Learners, staff, and community members. These meetings are an important opportunity for families to share input, learn about programs, and help ensure our English Learners receive the support they need to succeed. Your voice matters, and we welcome your participation!

Back to School Night – Tuesday, September 10th, 5:30–6:30 p.m.
Join us after the ELAC meeting for Back to School Night! This is a wonderful chance to meet your child’s teacher, learn about classroom expectations, and find out how you can support learning at home. Attending helps build strong partnerships between home and school, which are essential for student success. We hope to see you there!

Saturday School – Saturday, September 13th, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Saturday School is a great opportunity for students to make up an absence while engaging in fun and productive activities. Students who attend will also enjoy a pizza lunch! To sign up, please call or email Danelle in the office.

Fundraiser Update – Keep It Going!
As of September 5th, our Believe Kids fundraiser has already brought in over $7,000—amazing work, Bearcats! We have one more week to sell, so let’s finish strong. All orders are due on September 15th. Remember:

• The top-selling class will earn an extra recess.
  
  

• Any class with 30% participation will get to eat lunch outside!
  
  

• REGISTER today at ShopFund.com/reg.
  
  

Reminders

• All visitors must check in at the office if coming on campus after 8:00 a.m.
  
  

• Students in grades 1st–6th must be picked up in front of the school—not at the classroom door or on the playground. This helps teachers ensure that every student gets safely to where they need to go.
  
  

• If grandparents, aunts, uncles, or family friends are picking up your children, please share these procedures with them as well.

Reunión de ELAC – Martes, 10 de septiembre, 5:00–5:30 p.m.
Nuestras reuniones del Comité Asesor de Aprendices de Inglés (ELAC) están abiertas a todos los padres/tutores de estudiantes aprendices de inglés, al personal escolar y a miembros de la comunidad. Estas reuniones son una oportunidad importante para que las familias compartan sus opiniones, aprendan sobre los programas y ayuden a garantizar que nuestros estudiantes de inglés reciban el apoyo que necesitan para tener éxito. ¡Su voz es importante y agradecemos su participación!

Noche de Regreso a Clases – Martes, 10 de septiembre, 5:30–6:30 p.m.
¡Acompáñenos después de la reunión de ELAC para la Noche de Regreso a Clases! Esta es una maravillosa oportunidad para conocer al maestro de su hijo, aprender sobre las expectativas del salón de clases y descubrir cómo puede apoyar el aprendizaje en casa.
