Weekly NewsletterAugust 21st to August 25th, 2023
Wow! What a great start to the school year. I am so excited to be the Principal at Potter Valley Elementary School this year, I know it will be a fabulous one!
Last Friday we held our first Assembly and PBIS Expectation Stations. Students rotated through five stations (Playground, Office, Cafeteria, Restrooms, and Dismissal Area) to learn about our school expectations and school rules: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. Expectation Stations are part of our PBIS or Positive Behavior Interventions and Support implementation. PBIS is an approach schools use to promote school safety and good behavior. With PBIS, schools teach kids about behavior expectations and strategies with a focus on prevention. When implemented, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. Our staff is excited to be working with the Mendocino County Office of Education on our implementation of this program. Below is a link to our PBIS Manual. Please let me know if you have any questions.
